Jay Schenirer
Jay Schenirer was a member of the Sacramento City Council in California, representing District 5. Schenirer assumed office in 2010. Schenirer left office on December 13, 2022.
Schenirer ran for re-election to the Sacramento City Council to represent District 5 in California. Schenirer won in the general election on June 5, 2018.
Biography
Schenirer's professional experience includes working as a consultant and policy adviser on education and youth polices. He has also worked as the Assistant Secretary for Education for Development and Planning, as the Deputy Director of the Foundation Consortium for California's Children and Youth, as the General Manager of the Sacramento Food Bank and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Sacramento City Unified School District.[1]

The city of Sacramento, California held elections for city council on November 4, 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. Because one candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the primary election for District 5, its general election was called off. Incumbent Jay Schenirer defeated Ali Cooper.[2][3]
