Melinda Strickland defeated Keith Hester in the District 2 Republican primary. Strickland won without opposition in the general election. District 3 incumbent Jay Shell defeated challenger David Tucker in the Republican primary. Shell won without opposition in the general election. District 5 incumbent George Bevels (D) was defeated by primary challenger Joyce Mink (D). Mink lost to Republican candidate Melinda Jeffers in the general election.[1]
