  • In order to make decisions about our communities, judges need to be present in our communities.
  • Community experience is just as essential as legal experience and I have both.
  • I am the candidate that is the most reflective of the citizens of Harris County and their views and experiences.
Bail reform. Rehabilitation. Cutting down on recidivism.
The number one responsibility for someone in this office is to make decisions that are rooted in the law. But, while doing this, the Judge needs to treat all those that enter the court— whether defendant, attorney, court staff, or witness— with the utmost dignity and respect. A good judicial temperament is essential because it allows for real, authentic conversation between the judge and whomever is on the other side. Finally, a judge in this position has a responsibility to the citizens of our community to make sure their actions are transparent .
I was a bag boy at a local grocery store. At the same time, I worked at a water park doing an assortment of different jobs, I worked these jobs the summer before I started at Notre Dame.
Judges are not above the law. Thus, every decision a judge makes should be in accordance with the law. Our laws also allow judges to use discretion in some instances. This is where the judge’s experiences, in and out of the courtroom, become pertinent. Judges need to be present and active and involved in our communities in order to make the best decisions for our communities.
I am running for this seat because I bring a perspective that is lacking right now. As a former teacher, I saw first hand the issues in our community. Now as an attorney handling some of the most serious and heinous cases in the State of Texas, I further see the importance of community and I realize the role community plays in trying to improve our justice system.
