Jean Bissell
Jean Galloway Bissell (1936-1990) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She was nominated to the court by President Ronald Reagan and served there from 1984 until her death in 1990.[1]

Prior to her appointment to the federal bench, Bissell "was the highest-ranking female executive among the 100 largest bank holding companies in the United States".[2]

Judicial nominations and appointments
Bissell was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on May 24, 1984, to a seat created by 96 Stat. 25. She was confirmed by the Senate on June 8, and received commission on June 11. She served until her death on February 4, 1990.[1]
Education
Judge Bissell was a native of South Carolina. She passed away due to cancer at the age of 53. She was survived by her husband, step-son, brother and sister.[2]
