Bono won re-election to the Richardson Independent School District school board to represent District 1 in Texas outright after the general election on May 5, 2018, was canceled.

Bono graduated from Richardson High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a master's degree from the University of Texas. She and her husband, Lou, have two sons.[1]
