Campaign themes
2014
Marvin published her platform on her campaign website:
“ | We have a vibrant, growing community with tremendous assets.
Providing a world-class education to prepare all of our children to succeed is among our highest priorities. Success requires the partnership of an energized and engaged community. Many successful public/private partnerships exist; there is great potential for more. The community has developed a Strategic Plan to guide the district; an implementation plan is needed and ongoing engagement of the community is essential. We must be proactive, fiscally responsible, outcome driven and innovative in implementing the plan. As we move into the future, individualized education can be accomplished, consistent with the model of individualized medicine. Stakeholder input into decisions affecting them is critical in addressing needs and ensuring outcomes are met. Issues and challenges facing the community are best addressed in partnership with the school district. If we can't accomplish a world-class educational system in this community with all of its assets, who can? And if not now, when? Build Partnerships |
