Jean Schmidt was a judge for the Third Judicial District of the District Courts in Kansas. She was retained on Nov. 6, 2012.[1] She resigned from the court on September 25, 2014.[2]
Education
Schmidt earned her undergraduate degree from Bethel College and her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law.[3]
Career
Schmidt was appointed to the Third Judicial District in 2003. Before her appointment she worked as a prosecutor in Shawnee County and Douglas County, as an Assistant Attorney General, and as a staff attorney with an Insurance Department.[3]
Elections
2012
Schmidt stood for retention on Nov. 6, 2012.[4] She was successful in her bid for retention, earning 69.9% of the vote and 42,540 yes votes.[1]
