Jeanette Ruiz
Jeanette Ruiz is a former supervising judge for the Bronx County Family Court in New York. She was appointed to this position in 2008 for a term that expired in 2018.[1][2]
Education
Ruiz graduated from Hunter College with an undergraduate degree and received her master's degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work. She then received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.[3]
Career
Early in her career, Ruiz worked as a law clerk and served in the New York City Law Department and Department of Business Services. She then worked as General Counsel for the Harlem Dowling West Side Center for Children and Family Services. Prior to her judicial appointment, she was a Deputy Commissioner in N.Y.C.'s Administration for Children's Services, Division of Family Permanency Services. She was appointed to the New York City Civil Court in 2007 and was reappointed the following year. She was also assigned to the Kings County Family Court in 2007 and 2008. She was appointed and took office for a full term on the Bronx County Family Court in 2008.[1]
