- I would love to be know as the school board member that showed up for our students, teachers and communities. I do that in my life already every day and continue to learn from just being where our students are learning. Being present in schools and communicating with students and teachers help me know where we need improvements and what is working well. Giving time to our community members to explain our goals and how education (funding, process, etc) works will help them feel more invested. My hope is that when we can all feel that we are working together and are on the same team, our students can achieve even better greatness.
- Helping out teachers feel like they have opportunities to collaborate and learn is very important to me. Supporting our teachers this way and helping them have time and experience for collaboration and professional development will not only help our teachers, but it will also help our students.
- I will always be passionate about helping every child succeed. Every child is different and has different needs. Making sure we have adequate support and funds for Special Education, advanced learners, and programs in our secondary schools that help students explore and learn many ways of learning is important to me. The arts and technology are also important. Our state code and cores help guide us academically, but we have an opportunity to give our students the best experiences to thrive at school and learn to love it.
