Jeff Alley (Republican Party) was a judge for Chief Justice of the Texas Eighth District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on December 8, 2023. He left office on December 31, 2024.

Alley (Republican Party) ran in a special election for the Place 2 judge of the Texas Eighth District Court of Appeals. He lost in the special general election on November 8, 2022.

Gov. Greg Abbott (R) appointed Alley as chief justice on December 8, 2023.[1]

Biography

Education

Alley received a bachelor's degree in economics from Texas Tech University and a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law.[2]

Career

At the time of his appointment to the Texas Eighth District Court of Appeals, Alley served as the staff attorney to former Chief Justice Ann McClure of the Eighth Court of Appeals. Prior to that, he worked in private practice for 30 years.[2]
