Biography

Jeff Burks was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Burks' professional experience includes working as a computer programmer. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1992 and a graduate degree from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock in 1996.[1]

Burks has been affiliated with Freemasons, Rotary, NRA, Old Fort Gun Club.[1]

The ideal relationship is one of respect and ability to agree to disagree. The governor is suppose to provide a vision for the state, and the legislators to help provide the bills to make the vision a reality.
Getting our children's education levels up in order to continue growing our workforce. We need more people with trade skills to fill our open jobs. Continuing our infrastructure development and getting our roads up to par. We need to attract more diverse businesses to Arkansas as technology will change the job market.

yes, there was a recent study done showing that legislators that treated each other with respect and were cordial to each other were more effective in getting things done.
My cousin Charlene Fite who is retiring as State Representative. She has shown great leadership, strength and willingness to work hard for Arkansas
No, I don't see politics as a career but more as a short term job.
There was one lady who had a serious illness, got hooked on pain killers and lost her home. She was homeless until our local group helped her get education, a place to stay and a job.

The legislature should be able to grant them on a temporary basis and oversee its use.
All points of view bring something different to the discussion, having everyone agree with you on every point does not give a complete view of the issue. Compromises need to be realistic, its often a key tool for negotiating.
We need drivers education in high schools, somewhere along the way this has fallen by the wayside. I would like to address this as the defensive driving i had in school, although i didn't like it at the time, was instrumental in improving driving on our roads.
All committees that involve technology, education and business interest me. I want to see us all succeed.
