Davis stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:[1]
- Education
- Arizona is consistently on the bottom tier of education in the United States. But, as a teacher in Mesa Public Schools, I have the opportunity to work for one of the best public school districts in the nation. We consistently excel in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities because of great students, great parents, and great school administrators. We are blessed in the East Valley with a thriving public school system, but we also have a rapidly growing private and charter school system. Other parts of the state are not as lucky as we are. If elected, I pledge to work to improve education across the entire state.
- Fiscal Policy
- Our state has been playing games with the budget to create a veneer of balance while we remain on the precipice of another fiscal disaster. Current estimates show that we will have budget surpluses for the next 3 years, assuming that there isn’t a new recession, and including the expiration of the 1 cent sales tax. Meanwhile, there is no money in the Rainy-Day fund, and the state continues to carry the debt from sale of the Capitol Building which we are leasing back. It is time to hold the line on spending to ensure our situation is secure, and our debts are paid off before we embark on any new expensive initiatives. I also support a pro-growth tax policy that is simple and fair, and that doesn’t punish the individual entrepreneurs who make the economy grow.

- The final statement of the Bill of Rights is one of its most powerful. “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution . . . are reserved to the States”. Our Founders understood that the officials in Washington do not have all of the answers for each and every citizen in the country, but we have drifted away from this principle. Obamacare is simply the latest assault on federalism and individual rights. It threatens to bankrupt this state with its massive expansion of Medicaid, which has been mandated to the states. Our state government needs to continue pushing back against these overreaches of federal power."
Elections
2012
Davis ran in the 2012 election for Arizona House of Representatives District 16. He and Judy Novalsky were defeated by Doug Coleman and Kelly Townsend in the August 28, 2012 Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
