Candidate Connection

Jeff Dove participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on May 28, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Jeff Dove's responses follow below.[2]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Protecting American's physical and digital security

Promoting policies that help small businesses grow
Helping our nations' veterans by pushing for a culture change at Veteran's Affairs[3][4]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Cybersecurity

Government Spending Veteran's issuesCite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[4]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Jeff Dove answered the following:

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty is by far the most important quality for an elected official. Without it you are doing a disservice to the people you have sworn an oath to represent.[4]
What qualities do you possess that would make you a successful officeholder?
My work ethic is something that I believe will serve me well in Congress. It is one of the most demanding jobs out there and if you are not motivated every day you will not be successful.[4]
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at that time?
The challenger space shuttle disaster is my earliest memory. I was 4 years old and I remember seeing it on my grandmother's huge floor model television.[4]
What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
The last song that was stuck in my head is the theme song for the children's show Doc Mcstuffins. My daughter who is about to be one years old loves the show.[4]
If you are not a current representative, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?
Veteran's Affairs

Transportation Science and Technology[4]

What are your thoughts on term limits?
I believe that there should be limits on the number of terms someone can serve in Congress. When you have an unlimited time people are inclined to become complacent.[4]
