2016
Two of the five seats on the Kern High School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In his bid for re-election to Trustee Area 2, incumbent Jeff Flores defeated challenger Librado Vasquez. Incumbent Chad Vegas did not file to run for re-election to his Trustee Area 3 seat, leaving it open for a newcomer. Jennifer Bloomquist and Joey O’Connell ran for the seat, and O’Connell won.[2][3]

Funding
Flores began the race with an existing account balance of $24,000.66 from his previous campaign. He reported $25,849.74 in contributions and $43,134.08 in expenditures to Kern County Registrar of Voters, which left his campaign with $6,716.32 on hand in the election.[4]
2014
Four seats on the Kern High School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 4, 2014. In Trustee Area 1, incumbent Mike Williams faced challenger Aurora Cooper and won re-election. The Trustee Area 2 seat was up for election due to a vacancy on the board. Jeff Flores was the only candidate to file for the seat. He ran unopposed and won the election by default. The Trustee Area 4 race featured incumbent Martha McCuen Miller and challengers Anna Laven and Phillip Peters. Peters defeated Miller and Laven to win a seat on the board. In Trustee Area 5, incumbent Bryan Batey ran unopposed and won re-election by default.
Results
This election did not appear on the ballot due to lack of opposition. Newcomer Jeff Flores won the Trustee Area 2 seat by default.
Funding
Flores reported $28,963.00 in contributions and $2,162.34 in expenditures to the Kern County Registrar of Voters as of October 26, 2014, leaving his campaign with $26,800.66 cash on hand.[5]
