I'm running for reelection for my seat as a Palomar Health Board of Directors member. I’ve been a thirty-year veteran and second-generation Firefighter. I retired as a Fire Captain in 2022 and now hold the position as Part-time faculty at Palomar Community College in the Emergency Medical Education Department teaching the next generation of public safety professionals. (EMT/Paramedic) As a Paramedic, I have decades of experience working closely with health care teams at both Palomar Health facilities. I regularly attend local advisory councils where regional health care policies are shaped. I was first elected in 2012 and I'm currently the Chair of the Board of Directors.
  • Keeping Palomar Health as a public healthcare district.
  • Ensuring financial stability.
  • Providing employees with the salary and working conditions that they deserve.
Ultimately, the goal is to ensure Californians have access to affordable, quality healthcare. Finding a balance between independence and financial stability is vital to achieving that goal.
Seasonal Firefighter for Cal Fire. I worked 5 years before I earned my Paramedic license.

During these challenging times, half of the public healthcare districts either filed for bankruptcy or signed over all district assets to other entities. Please look at the four public health districts in San Diego County.

• Fallbrook Regional Health District voted to sell their hospital in 2017 and no longer participates in direct healthcare.
• Grossmont Healthcare District signed over district assets/lease operations to Sharp Healthcare District in 1991.

• TriCity Healthcare District had entered negotiations with UCSD to absorb this property, outstanding debt and staff. After nine months, UC San Diego Health announced that it will no longer seek a potential partnership with Tricity Healthcare.
