An effort to recall Jeff Handy from his position on the Board of Governors of the Clearwater Fire Protection District in Wayne County, Missouri was launched in August 2013.[1] The recall effort did not go to a vote.
Background
A group of firefighters, including George Bullock, John Jones, Dave Palmer and John Steinbeck, led the effort against Handy. They alleged Handy and two other firefighters used a district command car to go on a personal trip where alcohol was consumed. They said that the action set a bad example in the public eye.[1]
