Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Jeff Jacob answered the following:

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty, professionalism and compassion.[3]
What qualities do you possess that would make you a successful officeholder?
Honesty, professionalism and compassion.[3]
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
Serving Court documents and helping to keep the peace in our community.[3]
What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?
It is a fee-based office. It doesn't cost the taxpayers a penny. The office is funded and operates solely on the fees it collects from the services that are provided.[3]
Are there any little-known powers or responsibilities held by this office that you believe more people should be aware of?
A Constable is an elected Law Enforcement officer. The authority and duties include making arrests, seizing property and evicting citizens from their homes. It should not be bestowed on just any candidate. The election process is the only vetting process there is.[3]
Do you believe that it’s beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?
Experience in working in a Constable's office is a definite requirement in my opinion, experience in politics, not so much.[3]
What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?
Experience in criminal and civil law.[3]
