Jeff Lyon
Jeff Lyon is a former interim secretary of agriculture, trade, and consumer protection of Wisconsin. He was appointed to the position by Gov. Scott Walker (R) on August 11, 2017, following the retirement of Ben Brancel.[1] He was suceeded by Sheila Harsdorf in November 2017.
Biography
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Lyon joined The Country Today as a staff writer. From there, Lyon joined the office of Rep. Steve Gunderson (R) as a legislative assistant. In 1987, Lyon left Gunderson's office to serve as the assistant director of the National Commission on Dairy Policy. After leaving the commission, Lyon joined the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation. Lyon served as the federation's director of member relations before becoming the chief staffer on the policy development and dairy advisory committees. After leaving the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, Lyon joined the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection. He was named deputy secretary in January 2011 and continued to hold that post until his appointment as interim secretary in August 2017.[2]

Lyon was named interim secretary of agriculture, trade, and consumer protection on August 11, 2017 by Gov. Scott Walker (R) following the retirement of former Secretary Ben Brancel. Lyon took office on August 14, 2017.[1]
