Jeff Peacock (Alabama)
Jeff Peacock was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 22 of the Alabama State Senate. Peacock also ran in the 2010 Senate election for District 22.
Biography
Peacock is the co-owner of Cambridge Automotive and Stapleton and the owner of The Paper Station in Atmore.[1]

- MY VIEW OF POLITICS:
- I believe leaders should stand for something other than just getting elected.
- I believe a person should always do what is RIGHT, even when it may not necessarily be what is EASY.
- I believe government CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be the solution to our problems.
- I believe politics should be about IDEAS AND RESULTS . . . not about money and influence.
- ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
- As a small businessman, I understand this fact all too well. If we are going to be successful here in Southwest Alabama, we must effectively address the economic challenges facing our region. That’s why the central focus of my campaign will be economic development.
- I will ensure that the State of Alabama has a tax and regulatory structure that promotes economic growth.
- We must cultivate small business ownership & entrepreneurship.
- We must develop a more regional approach to economic development.
- We need to leverage the talents of our various community resources.
- Last, but certainly not least, the success or failure of any economic development plan will hinge upon the quality of our public education system.
- GETTING GOVERNMENT OUT OF OUR LIVES:
- In recent years, government has become more and more involved in everything we do. From healthcare, to religious freedom, to gun rights, to EPA regulations, big government has been increasingly intruding on our personal freedoms.

Elections for the Alabama State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Stephen Sexton, Harry D'Olive, Jr., Danny B. Joyner, Greg Albritton and Jeff Peacock faced off in the Republican primary. Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters - Albritton and D'Olive - met in a runoff election, which Albritton won.[3] Incumbent George M. "Marc" Keahey (D) withdrew before the Democratic primary and party leaders chose Susan Smith (D) as a replacement on June 10, 2014.[4][5][6][7][8] Albritton then defeated Smith in the general election on November 4, 2014.[9]
