Jeff Schwartz ran for election to the Thousand Oaks City Council District 4 in California. Schwartz was on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.[source]
Jeff Schwartz completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey in 2024. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Schwartz's responses. Candidates are asked three required questions for this survey, but they may answer additional optional questions as well.
My platform is simple:
- Taxes are too high. I want to reduce your taxes!
- No more waste, fraud, and abuse of tax money.
- No special breaks for billionaires or corporations.
- Respect term limits! Replace the 12-year incumbent!
I'm the Taxpayer's Best Friend!
I'm Jeff Schwartz, and I'm fighting (against all odds, they tell me) a David
vs. Goliath battle against a 12-year incumbent who is funded by billionaires
and wealthy special interests.
I'm running to:
Reduce Taxes!
End the Swindles and End the Scandals!
Pressure the 12-year incumbent, who is funded by billionaires and wealthy special interests, into voluntarily withdrawing from this race out of respect
for the principles of the 2012 Term Limits Initiative which he singlehandedly wrote, promoted, and brought to T.O. voters 12 years ago!
Reduce waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer money!
Cut unnecessary regulations and red tape!
Oppose big special-interest money!
Oppose favoritism and cronyism in government!
Empower individuals, families, friends, neighbors, churches, synagogues, and voluntarily-funded charities and organizations to solve social problems
that government bureaucracies cannot fix!
Promote tax credits, tax rebates, and tax-offsets as tools that can help stimulate not only our local economy, but can also stimulate charitable activities
The waste and abuse of your tax money is outrageous! For example: T.O. Council approved the scandalous “Shangri-La Quality Inn Project,” where your tax money was misspent on Ferrari and Bentley luxury cars, expensive rentals of Beverly Hills homes, and a $111,000 designer handbag! Every taxpayer should be mad as heck!
I want to make sure that our City Council does not approve projects like this until or unless it can be assured that new controls will be put into place to
make sure that taxpayer money cannot so easily be misspent and/or misallocated by government contractors like it was in this disastrous project.
Reduce government spending and send the money saved directly back to the taxpayers in the form of rebate checks and/or electronic payments transmitted directly into the taxpayer's bank account.
Promote tax credits, tax rebates, and tax offsets as tools that can not only help stimulate not only our local economy, but can also stimulate charitable activities that benefit the poor and the needy.
I want to save the taxpayer's money! One of my political role models is Howard Jarvis, the man who spearheaded California's Proposition 13, which was the biggest tax revolt the state has seen in the last 100 years. Jarvis was a retired businessman more than 70 years in age who had never been elected to public office. Jarvis proved that one man with one idea and
a passion for that idea can inspire people and help to make significant positive changes in our government.
I want to spearhead another peaceful, legal tax revolt in California, beginning in Ventura County. The first step towards getting this tax revolt in motion is to elect me to public office, where I will have the bully-pulpit to
I look up to Howard Jarvis, the man who spearheaded California's Proposition 13, the state's biggest tax revolt in the last 100 years. He was a man who was passionate about bringing limited, responsible government to the people, and he persisted until he achieved his goals.
I support any and all efforts to increase financial transparency and government accountability.
