Jeff Shipley (Republican Party) is a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 87. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2027.

Shipley (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 87. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

Jeff Shipley was born in Euclid, Ohio.[1][2] Shipley graduated from Naperville Central High School.[2] He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Iowa in 2010. Shipley's career experience includes a sauerkraut salesman, a stand-up comedian, and a legal advocate.[1][2] He has been affiliated with the Hazlitt Policy Center and the Southeast Iowa Mycological Society for the Advancement of Human Consciousness.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Curt Hanson was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Jeff Shipley was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hanson faced Shipley in the general election.[3][4][5] Incumbent Hanson defeated Shipley in the general election.[6]
