The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Jeff Sparks was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Matt Ubelhor was unopposed in the Republican primary. Ubelhor defeated Sparks and Ashley A. Keith Qualkenbush (L) in the general election. Qualkenbush filed to run on July 2, 2014.[4][5][6]
