Jeff Whitham
Jeff Whitham was a Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 123rd District. He served from 2007-2011.
Prior to his election to the House, Whitham served as mayor and on the city commission of Garden City. He has worked as President and CEO of Western State Bank since 1983.
Whitham is a graduate of Kansas State University and earned his J.D. from Washburn Law School.
Policy Positions
Whitham's website lists his legislative priorities as state budget and taxes, immigration, and taxpayer's bill of rights (TABOR).[1]
He refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[2]
