|- I have seen what a lack of opportunities for youth can do and I believe that we HAVE TO fund programs that will give young people a fighting chance. This in turn will reduce the crime rate in our community.
- Crime is a problem in our community. Our District houses a major South Carolina corporation (BOEING) yet, many of the youth in our community don't have the skill sets or clean criminal records to obtain these jobs. I firmly believe that if people have a truly viable source of income, they will work and in turn the perceived "need" to commit crimes will be reduced as their stressors for caring for their family are moved away.
- Traffic is a problem in our community. We have built beyond infrastructure. The road needs to be widened, alternate routes need to be devised and we need a plan on how to keep the roads in good order once they are established. Jeff believes that other forms of reliable transit are needed as well.
The schools in District 109 need to provide better educational opportunities to our children. It starts at the core with early childhood education and continuing to make school a true learning place. I think that comes with affording opportunites outside of the classroom for true learning. I would like to see a solid plan of integrated learning of all subjects into trips and hands on projects and anything that allows our kids to see that the world is larger than what they see.
He has selflessly served our country and while he is very active in the community, he believes that he can do more on a larger scale. It would be his honor if you would give him the opportunity to represent District 109 at the statehouse. His personal conviction of love for family causes him to want that which he seeks for his own children for ALL children.
