Jeff Witte is the New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture. Witte assumed office in 2011.
He was appointed by the New Mexico State University Board of Regents in May 2011.[1]
Biography
Witte first joined the New Mexico Department of Agriculture in 1994, serving as assistant director. In 2003, he became the director for the Office of Agricultural Biosecurity for NMDA and New Mexico State University (NMSU). In 2004, Witte co-directed the Southwest Border Food Safety and Defense Center at NMSU.[1]

He stated, “Most of all...I look forward to working with our producers, processors, transporters, and retailers who are the heart and soul of our agricultural industry and provide the economic backbone in many communities in our great state.”[2]
