Jeffi Girgenti is a small business owner, homeowner . She has resided in the 45th Assembly District for several decades. Her father was a Police Officer in the City of San Fernando.
As an equestrian and horse owner, she supports and respects the rights of individuals to maintain that lifestyle and property rights.
As a dog owner/lover she supports and respects the rights of those "without a voice" when it comes to the humane treatment of animals.

As a homeowner she supports property rights and the right not to be overtaxed or having one's rights infringed by over development.

As a small business owner, she is a strong advocate for the rights of those hard working individuals who step up to do the same.
Repealing AB5: Giving INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS THEIR RIGHTS BACK

With over 400 professions impacted by this misguided legislation, special interests exemptions and time extensions, which allow the politicians to pick winners and losers, it must be repealed.
I look up to the people who step up to make a difference. People who have a passion to make a difference to help others.

Mandela. He had a passion to make a better life in his country. He went to prison and then became President.

The Bible. The Ten Commandments. The Constitution. The Bill of Rights. The Civil Rights Act.
Integrity, Loyalty, Respect of yourself and others, Determination and the ability to Do Whatever It Takes to get the job done. Being a legislator is extremely important in our great Democracy. It is a gift that must be respected and treated with great care.
Bring the life experiences and common sense approach to looking at a challenge and its sound solution.
Address all challenges in an unbiased manner with the conviction of resoling the problem with consideration for all impacted either directly or indirectly.
To be remembered as a legislator who worked with all party members to bring about sound and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing all residents.

"What Ever it Takes" By Imagine Dragon
Like many families who experience the challenges of having a family member who suffered from substance abuse and homelessness, I had to experience it myself.

Having a sibling who suffered from mental illness is something I am familiar with as well.
The term of the Senate being four years as opposed to the Assembly being 2years , allows the Senate members more leverage and leeway in addressing and resolving an issue up for consideration.

On the other side of the issue, the super majority of one party detracts from the ability of those in either house to act and vote in an objective manner which takes inconsideration the concerns and ideas of their constituents has proven to be detrimental to the residents of all parties.
More important than experience in the political arena or in governance, is the ability to seek resolutions to challenges without out causing the unintended consequences which have and continue to cause harm to tens of thousands of individuals.

AB5 is a prime example. Although SB1120 did not make it to the Senate, it passed in the Assembly. It will be back next session.

SB277 and SB276 continue to restrict parental rights.

All of the above legislation was passed by state legislators with prior experience!
Homelessness and Mental Health continue to expand and spread throughout the State. It is impacting the quality of life in every community.

With no resolutions on the horizons and failed attempts to address this challenge by spending billions of taxpayers dollars on the issue; the lack of accountability and transparency with regards to the allocations of funds, is only making matters worse.
Advise and Consent. It is the responsibility of the Legislature to present the Governor with Bills containing the best practices and non agenda driven solutions to challenges facing all Californians each day.

The ability of the Legislature to so would go far in developing a relationship of Trust and Accountability between the Executive Branch and Legislative Branch.
Without a doubt! Given the one sided Super Majority, those of either party must have alliances with members if they are to be able to present legislation which the leadership may not agree with.
Those appointed or chosen to fill the position must be representative of a cross and equal sections of our population.

The district lines need to be set based on natural boundaries ie Neighborhood Council Districts. schools and public service organizations ie Police Divisions and Fire Department coverage zones.

The practice of drafting the boundaries based on the registration numbers of one political party over another not only does a disservice to all, it allows for the seating of elected officials who do not have a sense of duty to listen to all their constituents.

There are many parts of every legislator on Both sides of the aisle that have made huge strides to make a difference. I believe we need to look at the great achievements of all legislators and their mistakes to create a path for our future here in the great USA.
Yes... The fact that we have very few Charter schools in our low income areas and our future Leaders are failing in all areas of education due to legislators inability to stand up and FUND them.
