Jeffrey L. Cureton is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He has served in this position since 2010. [1]
Early life and education
Judge Cureton was born in 1967. He received his B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1990 and his J.D. degree from the Baylor University Law in 1993.[1]
Career
Judge Cureton started his law career as a law clerk to the Honorable Eldon B. Mahon, U.S. District Judge for the North District of Texas, from 1993 to 1994. In 1995, Cureton became an Assistant District Attorney for Tarrant Count, where he stayed until 1997. In 1997, Judge Cureton took his position as a law clerk for Judge Mahon back up, where he remained until 2000. After leaving the clerkship, he joined the Fillmore Law Firm as an Associate in Fort Worth, TX. In 2003, he left the Fillmore Law Firm to become a Partner at Cureton & Gordon. He left his practice in 2010 to be appointed Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of Texas.[1]
