Jeffrey D. Thompson

Jeffrey D. Thompson is the Assistant Chief Judge of the Minnesota Third Judicial District and serves in Winona County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this court on December 31, 1998 was retained in 2000, 2006, and 2012. His current term expires in December of 2019.[1]
Education
Thompson received his B.A. degree from Carleton College in 1971 and his J.D. degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1975.[1]
Career
Judge Thompson began his legal career in 1976 as an Assistant Winona County Attorney. He became a Winona County Attorney at Law in 1979 and worked in this capacity until 1986, when he returned to his previous position as Assistant County Attorney. From 1989 to 1999, he worked as a Rice County Attorney.[1]
Elections
2012
Thompson ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[2] He received 99.285% of the vote.[3]
