I am a Common-Sense Democrat, and I will be an independent voice for our region. Too much of our politics are dominated by the extremes of either party. Being a common-sense Democrat, I believe in fighting for our working families, supporting our police, standing with workers and unions, and defending our democracy and our constitutional rights I believe in bipartisanship. On Air Force One, I served under Democrat and Republican presidents. In the legislature, I was proud to reach across the aisle to work with my Republican colleagues to lower the cost of gasoline in Niagara County. I believe that working with the other side is a must!
  • We need to rebuild an economy that works for everybody, not just the wealthy. We need to create good paying jobs, fight for fair wages, lower the cost of healthcare, housing, childcare, and education, lower the tax burden and increase tax credits for our middle-class families.
  • Our children are our greatest investment. More attention needs to be given to providing our kids with safe activities and investing in our public schools. We need to ensure that our children feel safe at school.
  • As a member of the Air Force, I proudly fought to defend our Constitutional Freedoms. Those freedoms are under attack.

I believe in a woman’s right to choose what to do with her body. Healthcare decisions should NOT be made by the government. I believe that healthcare decisions should be made between a patient and their doctor.

I don’t want to live in a world where my daughters have less rights than their mothers had. We need to look forward and not back.
1. Universal Healthcare that ensures that everyone has access to healthcare regardless of income, employment, or pre-existing conditions. The USA is far behind other countries.

2. Paid Family and Medical Leave that allows employees to take paid time off for the birth or adoption of a child, or to care for a sick family member.

3. Education Equity and Investment by Focusing on policies that address disparities in education funding across districts. Supporting universal pre-K, increased funding for K-12 schools in underserved areas, and affordable higher education will resonate with voters looking for long-term solutions. Just to name a few.
While I was at the Department of State, I was part of the largest mentoring program in the world.

This program taught me that everyone should be a Mentor and have a Mentee.
We all have somebody who inspired us at some time in our upbringing. For me, that was my uncle. I modeled my career pretty much to what he did.

When my uncle retired, he passed on the mantle to me. He and many others are the reason that I have been successful in my career and am here today.
Lincoln on Leadership by Donald T. Phillips and My book, From Niagara Falls, to Air Force One and back. Which tells my story.
Integrity. Our community deserves better than leaders who lack the courage or integrity to stand up to corruption within their own ranks. As an Air Force veteran, one of our core values was integrity first because without integrity, you stand for nothing. I have been proud to live my life by this core value and as your Assemblyman, I will bring that attitude to Albany and stand against political corruption no matter where it originates from.
I exude the Air Force Core Values of "Competence, Integrity & Pride" Excellence in all we do. I have to stay true to myself.
I think the relationship between the legislature and the governor should be based on a foundation of collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving the public interest. We are all in this together and must be on the same page.
Not necessarily, each person has different traits and skills. We all had to start somewhere.
I wouldn't call it building relationships but knowing your colleagues. We need to know where each other stands and that gives us a better perspective of how to approach things.
President Clinton whom I worked for has given me guidance which is very much appreciated.
In my opinion yes. Granting powers allows the executive to act swiftly during crises, while legislative oversight ensures that these powers are used responsibly, are time-limited, and are subject to checks. This balance preserves democratic governance while ensuring that emergency responses are efficient and effective.
Anything that would bring much needed funding to our local area.

I think the government should be transparent to the most extent as possible. Meaning not all things are for everyone to see. I would like to see a more open Budgeting Process to advocate for transparency in how government budgets are created, allocated, and spent is key. Publicly accessible and detailed budget reports, as well as participatory budgeting processes where citizens have a voice in how funds are spent, can enhance accountability.
This question requires much discussion to weigh the pros and cons.
