Jeffrey Johnson is a judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court in Ohio. He assumed office on January 5, 2024. His current term ends on January 4, 2030.
Johnson ran for election for judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court in Ohio. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Johnson previously served in the Ohio State Senate from 1990 to 1998. He was the Democratic minority whip from 1996 to 1998. In 1999, he ran for the U.S. House of Representatives. He lost the election amidst federal extortion and wire fraud charges, which eventually resulted in his conviction and a 15-month prison sentence.[1][2][3]
Johnson was a nonpartisan candidate for mayor of Cleveland, Ohio. Johnson was defeated in the primary election on September 12, 2017.
Biography
Jeff Johnson was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Collinwood High School in 1976. He earned a bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Kent State University, a master's degree in political science from Case Western Reserve University, and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University. Johnson's career experience includes working as an attorney, founding Prime Strategy Group, and working as a mediator in the Office of the Cleveland Prosecutor.[1][4]
