Jeffrey J. Kicia was a Libertarian candidate for office in Colorado in 2016. He said of his run for office: "I was fed-up with the blatant and egregious abuses, corruption, harassment, labeling, and intrusion by the insidious, dirty,and filthy local and state autocrat socialists that have committed a disservice and injustice to innocent people with their Authoritarian out of control Statutes and Laws."[1]

Kicia also ran as a Libertarian candidate for District 37 of the Colorado House of Representatives in 2012.

Kicia served on the Metro-District Board for two years and the Home Owners Association Board at Smoky Hill. He attended undergraduate and graduate school at William Paterson University, the University of Northern Colorado, and Southern Illinois University. He received a double B.A. in earth science and geography with a minor in environmental studies, and an M.S. in health administration. Kicia has been a business owner since 1984. He coached teenagers in track and field and cross country as a high school volunteer. He served in the United States Navy in 1977 and 1978 and in the Naval Reserves from 1983 to 1989.

Kicia was a professional athlete on national racing teams from 1981 to 1984. He made the 1984 United States Olympic trials team and was a two-time all American in the NCAA. He ranked 66th and 67th in the world, finishing 5th and 8th in the NCAA.[1]

Kicia ran in the 2012 election for Colorado House of Representatives District 37. He was defeated by Spencer Swalm (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]

Kicia issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

I am proudly a Non-Conformists and do NOT condone,endorse,and sponsor in any viable shape or form the major two (D) and (R) Autocrat and Draconian Neo- Fascists abusive and corrupt parties, especially on the Local and State tier government agencies and entities. They are the epitome of an out of control government that harass,intrude,and label innocent law abiding citizens without "just cause" the majority of the time!! It is commonly referred to as "Enhancement Revenue" along with their Abuse and Corruption on mandated quotas.
