Denial of request to release body camera footage (2021)

On April 28, 2021, Foster denied a request to release footage from a police body camera showing the shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. Foster said that the video footage should not be released for at least 30 days in order to prevent it from influencing the ongoing investigation. “The release at this time would create a serious threat to the fair, impartial and orderly administration of justice,” Foster said. Foster allowed the family of the victim to privately view portions of video from body and dashboard cameras.[2]
