My name is Jeffrey Lustick, and I am proud to be a candidate for Nevada AD 11 (Downtown Las Vegas, the Arts District, Fremont Street & part of North Las Vegas.)

I have been actively involved in state and local politics and community organizing since my teens. In 1986 and 1987, I was selected for two terms as a page in the Washington State Legislature. I was also elected as HOA president for a large growing neighborhood, and I served as county bar president.

I am an attorney, a former part-time Municipal & District Court Judge; former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney; former Federal Public Defender; and former prosecutor. I served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officer, earning the grade of Major.

As a proud veteran, I am a member of the American Legion Member and the Sons of the Legion where I served as Post Legal Officer and assisted Legion Service Officers by filing VA Benefits claims for disabled veterans. I have also been a member of the Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol since 1982 and was awarded 3 lifesaving medals for valor. I was on CourtTV as a legal commentator and was a conservative talk show host on AM radio. I was also a volunteer Zamboni driver at our city ice rink.

I am a member of Hope Church Las Vegas. I currently works as a pilot and aircraft broke in my small business at North Las Vegas Airport. I am also a cancer survivor. I live in Downtown Las Vegas with my service dog, Jacky, a 3-year old Maltipoo.
  • My legislative priorities are making sensible and needed reforms to state government; creation of family wage jobs and promotion of local small business; enhancement of public safety by empowering and funding the police; heightening the prosecution of offenders, and strengthening the rights of victims and survivors of crime; and working with my colleagues in a bipartisan way to make urgently needed improvements in our state education system with a special emphasis on better addressing the needs of students and adults with learning and cognitive disabilities.
  • I am also deeply concerned about the privatization of our public resources which is happening on a large and rapid scale in Southern Nevada and legislating important, affordable, and practical changes to our traffic infrastructure to make our lives easier and keeping our local environment cleaner.
  • As an attorney and former part time judge, I pledge to restore the ethics, honor, and integrity of the 11th District Assembly position that was severely tarnished by the previous officeholder. I am guided everyday by my strong moral and ethical compass. My mission is to always work hard while being a good listener to the voices of the people who put me in this position, as I act on good ideas to improve their lives, the lives of our children, and the lives of our families. The proud people of the 11th Assembly District are a richly diverse and dynamic population who deserve nothing less than an ethical leader, incorruptible, and compassionate about serving only their interests. I am that person.
Improving the state education system

Better addressing the needs of students & adults with learning & cognitive disabilities

Abolishing the DMV & adopting flat fee vehicle registration

Creation of family wage jobs

Promotion of local small business

Increase Police Funding

Heightening prosecution of offenders

Strengthening Victim Rights

State Election Reforms

Stopping privatization of public resources

Synchronizing traffic signals in Nevada cities

Clarifying rights of persons with disabilities who use service dogs

Eliminating the archaic seasonal time changes

Amending the State Constitution to require legislative sessions every year

Giving strong consideration to moving the state capitol to Las Vegas
Integrity, transparency, accessibility, and accountability.
Working each day as a servant leader for the people of the 11th District, following an ethical code, and avoiding conflicts of interest.
Although it wasn't the first historical event that happened in my lifetime, I do vividly recall back in 1976, I wrote a letter to President Ford, and he wrote me a personally hand written back. In that letter, President Ford encouraged me to strive to someday be of service to my community, state or nation. This interesting event has always motivated me to be a leader in everything I do, and is one of the reasons why I joined the military right after graduating from law school.
