Jeffrey L. McWaters is a former Republican member of the Virginia State Senate, representing District 8 from 2010 to 2016. He was first elected to the chamber in special election in January 2010.[1]

McWaters did not seek re-election to the Virginia State Senate in 2015.

Biography

McWaters received a B.A. in accounting at the University of Kentucky. In the 1980s, McWaters worked for CIGNA and Earnst & Young. In 1994, he founded AMERIGROUP and served as CEO for until 2007.

On November 8, 2011, McWaters won re-election to District 8 of the Virginia State Senate. He was unchallenged in the August 23 primary and ran unopposed in the November 8 general election.[2]

2010

On January 12, 2010, Mcwaters won election to the 8th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate, defeating opponent Bill Fleming (D).[3]
