Jeff Sanford is a dedicated and visionary leader with a strong background in both military service and public administration. With a passion for creating a sustainable and vibrant community, I have been an instrumental force in driving Aurora, Colorado towards a prosperous and environmentally conscious future. I was born and raised in the city of Denver Colorado, and developed my keen sense of community, and service to others by the example set by my father a senior member of the Colorado Air National Guard, and my mother a caring and dedicated School Teacher. After entering the military and getting married to my wife of 34 years, we chose to raise our family in the City of Aurora. I have a profound understanding of the community's diverse needs and challenges. I can and will bring a unique blend of ability to this leadership role with valuable skills, directly related to the uniformed members of the city, complex policy analysis, inclusive community engagement, and how to seamlessly support the largest employer in Aurora.
  • Environmental Sustainability: I am dedicated to implementing environmentally friendly policies and practices to reduce the city's carbon footprint and preserve Aurora's natural beauty for future generations.
  • Fiscal responsibility: The balanced budget presentations are superb, however with out a published current Master Plan for infrastructure, economic development and a true vision the city will continue funding election year feel good projects, not being sustainable.
  • Education: With out a strong school system we will fail. I am a strong supporter of quality education and believe in investing in schools, especially Community College of Aurora (CCA) and Vocational training, to provide students with the best possible learning environment. I always advocate for programs that promote educational equity, out of the box thinking, ensure the programs prepare students for social and emotional growth to be successful in the future, not just taking tests.
