Campaign themes

2014

Turley's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]

Balance in the Legislature

  • Excerpt: "Jeff will bring a more moderate view to the legislature, which would represent a majority of the people in this great state of Utah. Jeff will give the moderates a voice. A super majority is not good for the State, no matter what party or organization is in control. There needs to be more discussion and compromise on all issues."

Education

  • Excerpt: "Investing in our Children should be the number one issue of our State. The GOP platform states that they believe in adequate funding for the state public education system. Can you imagine how much we could improve on what we have if the public education system was paid enough, not just adequately?"

The Economy

  • Excerpt: "Fair Wages- Executive wages are leap frogging out of control and leaving the rest of us out of the game."
  • Excerpt: "Employee Benefits- Reducing benefits of employees to increase profits."
  • Excerpt: "Minimum Wage- Income is so low a person cannot support a family on it and need government assistance."
