I'm a REALTOR®, small business owner, wife, and mother with a passion for giving back to my community through volunteer work. With a background in sales and management, I'm a natural leader who prides myself on integrity and service to others. Growing up in a volatile and challenging environment, I understand firsthand the importance of community support. Despite facing childhood adversities and being moved around a lot, I've found solace and purpose in Bourbon, my home for over 15 years. My personal journey fuels my commitment to leaving a positive impact on the place I now call home. I'm determined to tackle the tough challenges and implement meaningful changes that will benefit the entire community.
  • Community-centered leadership: I’m a wife, mother, and small business owner that has been directly involved in many aspects of my community and surrounding communities, and I feel that helps me understand the needs of the district firsthand. I'm committed to representing the interests of all constituents.
  • Progressive policies for positive change: I'm an advocate for progressive policies that address pressing issues facing the district, such as fully funding public schools, stabilizing the cost of living for working families, protecting workers' rights, safeguarding the environment, and investing in infrastructure. I believe that progress is necessary in order to address the challenges of a changing world and improving the lives of our residents.
  • Accessible representation: I promise to be a responsive and accessible representative who prioritizes communication with constituents. So many are frustrated and feel unheard by current representatives and I pledge to actively engage with residents, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.
Education, teacher pay, universal early childhood education, stabilizing the cost of living for working families by adjusting the minimum wage to a livable wage, by implementing policies to increase the supply of affordable housing, and by ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare, safeguarding small-scale farms and land, protecting natural resources, proactively investing in our infrastructure (roads, bridges, water and sewer lines, and broadband internet), fighting for human dignity and equal rights, and protecting a woman's right to choose.
I look up to my maternal grandmother. She taught me everything I know - how to cook, how to sew, how to crochet, and how to be a fiercely strong woman. Because of her, and all of the challenges she faced in life, I know I can do hard things.
An elected official should be deeply engaged with their community, should be authentic and have a high level of integrity, they should have a progressive vision for the future of the district, be transparent in their actions and decisions, and be committed to public service and dedicating themselves to improving the lives of those they serve and leaving a positive impact on their community.
I simply want to leave my district better than it was when I moved here in 2009. Progress can be scary, but it's necessary.
I absolutely believe it's beneficial to build relationships with other legislators. I believe it's essential for effective governance and achieving legislative goals. Relationships can facilitate the exchange of ideas, information, and resources, allowing representatives to better understand different perspectives and leverage support for their priorities. Additionally, it gives the ability to work more efficiently and productively within the legislative process, which directly benefits our constituents.
I'm not currently interested in running for a different political office. I care deeply for my local communities and want to work in an elected position where I can directly impact my district in a positive way.
