  • Climate Action & Sustainability. We need urgent action to address the impacts of climate change and implement sustainable practices.
  • Community Safety & Wellbeing. Every person in our community deserves to be safe — both mentally and physically. This requires approaches to safety rooted in data-driven decision-making, informed by national best practices and the lived experiences of our community members.
  • Thriving Youth, Families & Caregivers. Youth, families, and caregivers in our community are facing unprecedented challenges and need coordinated support to thrive. This requires thinking about our government systems in an integrated way and using public funds wisely.
Jen’s leadership is rooted in authentic community engagement, data-driven decision-making, research on innovative practices, and collaboration with colleagues across multiple layers of government. Priorities include Climate Action, Community Health & Safety, Housing for All, Racial & Gender Equity, Workers' Rights, an Inclusive Economy, and Accessibility & Opportunity.
Community engagement is a passion of mine. I seek to bring the voices of the people I represent into decision-making processes, especially people who have not previously been heard by elected leaders. I am a hard worker who sees projects through to completion. I hold a doctorate in educational leadership, focusing in systems change with community at the center. I have over six years of experience as a local elected official serving on the Hopkins School Board. During this time, I have worked across layers of government to benefit our community.
I am the only candidate for this office that has local elected experience. I will leverage that experience to continue to work across layers of government to make policy that benefits our community. I understand the diverse priorities and complex needs of our community, largely because I have been doing this work within and across local government for years.
