|- I will continue to work toward improving student outcomes and improving achievement as my top priority. This is the highest responsibility of a school district. In order to set up students to reach their highest potential, they must have a safe environment, both physically and emotionally, in which to learn and grow. I will continue to focus on empowering great teachers to engage, challenge and celebrate each child. I will also continue to engage parents, guardians and community members to support students in a holistic manner.
- I am a strong proponent of enriching and strengthening the whole student. Having a social worker on each campus was one of my priorities four years ago. The Board and administration made that a priority. With grant funding and other resources, we made it a reality. This was especially important during and in the aftermath of COVID. Providing these resources help strengthen the whole child and create a safe learning environment so that each student can be better suited to reach their potential.
- Recruiting and retaining highly qualified teachers and staff is crucial for our students academic achievement. I along with my fellow board members will continue to focus on ways to do fully staff our schools with highly qualified teachers. We will continue to work with administration to find ways to recruit teachers as well.
