Jennifer Ellen DeLaney is a judge of the Sixth Judicial District Court of New Mexico. She was elected to the court on November 6, 2012.[1] DeLaney was retained in 2014 for a term that expires in 2020.[2]

Education

DeLaney received her B.S. degree from Eckerd College in 1997 and her J.D. degree from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in 2002.[3]

Career

DeLaney worked as a managing attorney partner of DeLaney & Hernandez, LLC from October of 2002 until July of 2009, when she was appointed the special master, domestic relations hearing officer and domestic violence commissioner for the 6th Judicial District. In 2012, she was elected to the District Court.[3]

DeLaney was retained to the 6th District Court with 76.3 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2]

DeLaney was successfully elected to the Sixth Judicial District. She was successful in the June 5, 2012, primary, receiving 62.4 percent of the vote and defeating fellow Democratic candidate Michael R. Renteria.[4] In the general election, she won 55.78 percent of the vote, defeating Republican candidate Jarod K. Hofacket.[1]
