I am an All-In Christian. I am a member of Austin Ridge Bible Church ("ARBC"). I have served my church every week as a teen Bible leader. First at Houston's First Baptist and now at ARBC. I have been married for 23 years and I have three children. My youngest child is a freshman at Lake Travis High School. We have owned a home in the district since 2005. I have been an attorney for 20 years. I defended business owners in court for 15 years and for the last five years I serve as general Counsel for R Construction, an oil & gas services company. In 2012, I began to donate time, energy and resources to the fight against the sexualization and gender confusion found in school classrooms. I help parents with grievance procedures, I testify in front of the State Board of Education and the State Legislature and I speak at conferences hoping to engage others in the fight for the protection of children. In 2019, I wrote 3 bills as a mom, attorney and activist. All 3 bills were filed and I lobbied them through the legislative process. I decided to run for office to stand in the gap for moms, females and conservative values. I know who I am. I will not be bought or manipulated. I will not compromise on principle. I will be fearless. I'm running to represent "We the People".
  • I will continue to introduce legislation to protect children, families and parental rights.
  • I will consider Republican legislative priorities my priorities.
  • I am a social and fiscal conservative.
I am passionate about protecting children from indoctrination in the schools, including but not limited to, sexualization, gender confusion, socialism, social emotional learning and revisionist history. I am pro-life and I believe the pro -life message starts with stopping the sexualization of children. I believe that parents should be treated as partners with educators and parents are the primary teachers of their children. I believe that two parents are critical to the success of every child and I will fight for any dad that wants to parent. I want to work on juvenile justice reform, including but not limited to, "Raise the Age" and "Second Look". I want to work on CPS and Foster care reform, including but not limited to, increasing transparency to biological parents about possible charges and removing conflicts within the system. I am NOT for full day public pre-K or SB 10&11 passed into law in 2019 that increased state spending. I am FOR cutting spending in order to cut property taxes. I am FOR passing border security bills requested by the Border Patrol that include reducing the Carrizo cane and bolstering the infrastructure, such as roads. I am FOR the legalization of medical marijuana in accordance with a doctor's diagnosis, not the Legislature's list of ailments. I am FOR the Grow Texas bill that would have diverted funds already collected to building infrastructure in the Permian Basin, the world's top oil producer. I am Pro 2nd Amendment.
I look up to my grandparents. My grandfather left his high school class and hitchhiked across the country to join the Air force and fight in WWII and the Korean War. He married my grandmother in a small Texas town when she was a late teen. Neither had more than a high school education, but they worked hard and built a life from poverty to middle class. While working, they made themselves available to family. They would drop everything and drive all night in order to arrive on your doorstep the next morning. I remember spending many summer vacations with them gardening and fishing in the Texoma Lake. After retiring, they dedicated their lives to serving with the Red Cross, including the tragedy of 911. They were married for almost 65 years when my grandpa died. My grandparents showed me what it meant to sacrifice, what it meant to love, what it meant to work hard and what it meant to serve. I attribute my grit and love for people and Texas to their lifelong example. Thankfully my grandmother is still alive to see me carry on a legacy of serving. I pray my life and my dedication makes them proud. I hope to pass on these same qualities to my children and grandchildren.
The most important principle that an elected must remember is that he/she is elected to represent the People and the laws in place. Too often, an elected gets off track and begins to represent their own conscience and desires, special interests and/or the desire for power and money. Every election cycle should be a reckoning from the People that voice their opinion with their vote. As long as the People don't make their voices heard with their vote, this twisted behavior will continue. The People must search for, recruit, train and carry candidates that will represent them faithfully and fearlessly. Our apathy is our own worst enemy.
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It tells the story of God's relentless pursuit and love for each of us. It is beautifully written and you can't put it down. It is the redemption story of a self destructive undeserving people.
I was diagnosed as a juvenile diabetic when I was 13. I take 3 insulin shots a day and prick my finger 3 times daily. I have to be very aware of my diet, exercise, rest and stress in order to feel good and go 100 miles an hour like I like to do. I have to make good choices everyday to feel healthy. Good choices are about self control. I can sympathize and empathize with others that must struggle through difficulties to feel as good as a person without a disease. The struggle has taught me self discipline and the real-time consequences of good and bad decisions.
I believe the greatest challenge to this state is protecting the next generation. A friend said, "We can fight all the separate issues, and win, but if we lose the hearts and minds of the next generation, we have merely won some battles, but lost the war." This is what I believe is true. We must fearlessly fight for children, families and parental rights. Unfortunately there are competing interest at play and we have to stand for what is right in face of great opposition. If we can fight for the next generation, then we can ensure a safer tomorrow.
I would like to serve on Public education, Juvenile Justice and family Issues and Criminal Justice. All of these committees have a daily impact on families. I know there are other important committees, but these are the issues that keep me up at night.
I try to door knock every day. This is the one time that I feel the most connected with real people and their interests and needs. Some voters take the time to ask "why are you running?" This woman was about 85 and a resident of Manchaca. I explained that I was concerned about the graphic sex education and gender confusion in the classrooms. She started to cry. I gave her a hug and she apologized for being emotional. She remembered a time not too long ago when times weren't as dark and kids could be kids. I remember that time too. I don't always understand what God is doing, but I always see His hand in hindsight. I see now that he has been preparing me For Such A Time As This. I will be a champion for children, families and parental rights.
