Jennifer Locetta, who aided Republican Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign in Florida, was the Florida state director for Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.[1]

In March 2025, President Donald Trump (R) nominated Locetta to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations for Political Affairs.[2]

Career

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Locetta graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2006.[3] After graduating, she worked as the office manager and director of human resources at Innoprise Software, according to Democracy In Action.[4]

During the 2012 presidential election, Locetta served as the Florida statewide data director for the Republican Party of Florida. In this capacity, she aided Mitt Romney's (R) presidential campaign in the state.[5] In 2014, she managed the unsuccessful U.S. Senate primary campaign of Richard DeNapoli (R-Fla.).[6]

Locetta initially joined Donald Trump's presidential campaign as the deputy state director in November 2015, working under then-state director Karen Giorno.[7] She was promoted to state director in July 2016 when Giorno became the campaign's senior advisor and chief strategist for Florida.[8] In the press release announcing Locetta's promotion, the Trump campaign said that she would "oversee day-to-day campaign operations in Florida through the general election."[1]
