Jennifer "Jenni" Neahring participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 13, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Jennifer "Jenni" Neahring's responses follow below.[1]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | 1) Creating better care for more people for less money. 2) Improving our educational system from pre-K through post-high school. |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | As a doctor in Oregon, I’ve seen many ways we could make our health care better, cutting costs and keeping people from falling through the cracks. But there’s one clear way we could make it worse. And when our Congressman Greg Walden voted and worked to abolish the Affordable Care Act, endangering the care of 450,000 Oregonians, I knew I had to do something. Our healthcare system costs twice as much as most other high-income countries and our health outcomes are worse. We are spending too much on things that don't make our communities healthy. We need to stop taking that money from where it is needed to upgrade infrastructure, improve our children's education, and support or growing senior population. These problems are hard and we need a Congress that will work to solve them with people who understand that it's complicated.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]
