  • Budget Cuts
In a May 2012 interview, Ong declared that any cuts to social services in the state budget should be supplanted by job opportunities. Specifically, with regard to budget cuts, she said that continued investments in health care and the youth are key.[1]
  • "Ballot-box Budgeting"
In a May 2012 interview, Ong defended the power of voters to support specific policies via referendum, despite the limits it places on the legislature. She said she considered it a valuable way for voters to force the legislature to act on policy.[1]
