What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

-Ensuring access to clean, safe and affordable drinking water
-Fix our crumbling roads and infrastructure
-Strengthen and fully fund our public schools[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

I am personally passionate about government transparency, including expanding the Freedom of Information Act to include the Governor and the Legislature. Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Jennifer Suidan answered the following:

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My first job was working in my family's restaurant, which is named after me. I worked there through high school and college.[3]
Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.
Yes, building relationships is critical to being an effective lawmaker.[3]
What process do you favor for redistricting?
I favor redistricting being done by an independent commission.[3]

Noteworthy events

Suidan charged with embezzlement

On October 12, 2018, Suidan turned herself in and was charged with embezzling roughly $150,000 from Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner while working as a record keeper for his 2012 and 2016 campaigns. She was first accused of embezzlement on September 24, 2018. The Detroit News reported that state Democrats had asked her to unofficially withdraw from the election (her name still would have appeared on the ballot as it was too late to officially withdraw). As of October 23, Suidan had not withdrawn from the election.[4][5][6]
