Jenny Prichard was a candidate for at-large Position 7 representative on the Topeka Public Schools Board of Education in Kansas. She was defeated in the general election on April 7, 2015.

Prichard was a family and consumer science teacher in the Topeka school district beginning in 1994. She is now retired. She graduated from Osborne High School in 1972 and earned her B.S. in family and consumer sciences and human sciences from Fort Hays State University in 1977.[1]

Four seats on the board of education were up for election on April 7, 2015. Position 4 incumbent Janel Johnson, Position 5 incumbent Peg McCarthy, Position 6 incumbent Patrick Woods, and at-large Position 7 incumbent Nancy Kirk sought re-election in 2015. Johnson won re-election unopposed.[2]

McCarthy, Woods, and Kirk defeated their challengers. Scott Holloman lost to McCarthy for the Position 5 seat. Woods defeated two challengers for Position 6: Michael Boyer and Lloyd Fleming. The Position 7 at-large challenger Jenny Prichard lost against incumbent Kirk.[2]

Funding

Prichard filed a K.S.A. 25-904(a) form, also known as an "Affidavit of Exemption," stating she would not spend or receive more than $500.00 in the election cycle, including contributions to her own campaign. The final campaign finance reporting deadline for this race was May 7, 2015. Prichard was only required to file on that date if she exceeded the stated limits.[3]
