My name is Jenny Ruth Crisler, and I'm running for Craighead County Tax Collector because I believe taxpayers deserve someone who truly knows this job from the inside out.

I've spent 35 years serving this community in both the Assessor's and Collector's Offices, the two offices that work hand-in-hand to serve you. As a Level 4 Appraiser entrusted with valuing property, I understand the full picture of how taxes are assessed and collected. I'm a graduate of South Central Career College where I studied accounting and bookkeeping, giving me a strong foundation for this work.

As a lifetime resident of Craighead County and a proud mother of two Arkansas State University graduates, I'm deeply invested in this community's future. My number one priority is simple: to be your advocate and ensure the Tax Collector's Office works with fairness, efficiency, and respect for every taxpayer.
  • I'm the only candidate with 35+ years of hands-on experience in the actual offices that serve taxpayers daily. With 17 years in the Collector's Office and 18 in the Assessor's Office, I understand how these offices work together, and I know how to make them work better for you.
  • I've earned the endorsement of the people who've done this job: Carol Ward, former Craighead County Tax Collector; Eddie Thomas, former Craighead County Assessor; and Hannah Towell, current Craighead County Assessor. They know what it takes, and they're backing me.
  • I'll fight for fairness and transparency for every taxpayer. My goal is to make your tax experience clear, efficient, and respectful, because you deserve an office that works for you.
I'm passionate about ensuring every taxpayer's bill is correct before they're asked to pay it, and that they receive every credit and exemption they're entitled to. Too often, people pay what they're billed without realizing there may be errors or credits they've missed. It’s important to proactively help taxpayers take advantage of programs like homestead credit, disabled veteran credit, and property valuation freeze. Getting it right matters because it's about treating people fairly and earning their trust.

If your payment is postmarked by October 15th, I'll accept it without penalty.
