Jeremiah J. McCarthy is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He was first appointed to this position on February 26, 2007. He was reappointed in 2023 to a term that will expire on February 25, 2031.
Education
Judge McCarthy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from Cornell Law School.[1]
Professional career
Prior to his judicial appointment, McCarthy practiced law for 16 years as a partner of the firm Phillips Lytle LLP.[1]

McCarthy was appointed to the United States District Court for the Western District of New York as a federal magistrate judge on February 26, 2007. He was reappointed in 2023 to an eight-year term that will expire on February 25, 2031.
