Issues
Campaign website
2014
Alessi's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
- EDUCATION
- "I am running on August 5th to Represent you in the Kansas House. My daughters go to public school here. They are the seventh generation to call Wichita their home. I am a graduate of USD 259 and when deciding where to raise our children my wife and I still have one answer, the Northside of Wichita. I am passionate about what our kids' teachers help them acheive [sic] in the classroom. The education of children, from kindergarden through senior year in high school, accounts for over 50% of our state's spending. I am passionate about assuring the proper amount of that funding gets into the classroom and into teachers' hands."
- JOB GROWTH
- "I have gratitude for what you as fellow Kansans and neighbors have acheived [sic] through your hard work and perseverance. I look forward to working for you to keep more of your hard-earned tax dollars. I favor an economy that strives for the best conditions for job growth. We can achieve a better environment where businesses and entrepreneurs create new innovations and jobs to supply new demands and industry."
- QUALITY OF LIFE
- "Kansas deserves a quality of life that rivals any state in the nation. As a trusted advocate in the local business, church and arts community here, I desire to help make Kansas a state that grows jobs and teaches our children the creativity and values we champion."
- BUSINESS
- "I am a local business owner working everyday to improve our lives in Kansas. While serving as a judge for the Wichita State University New Ventures competition, and Start Up Weekend Wichita, I mentored young business owners to be the future. We need the tax and regulatory environment for businesses to grow and effectively grow more jobs."
