I'm a lifelong Utahn, moved to the district about a year ago. I live in Lehi with my wife, two kids, cousin-in-law, and two dogs. I have a B.S. in criminal justice from UVU and a M.S. in cybersecurity from UVU. I have worked in the tech industry for 18 years and 3.5 years specifically in IoT product security auditing compliance with cybersecurity laws and setting corporate product cybersecurity policies and cloud security policies.
  • I believe Utah can be significantly better at personal freedoms than it currently is. Our gambling laws, alcohol laws, and educational choice put us far from freedom compared to other states. If elected I would work to make Utah freer.
  • Utah is one of 13 states that still have a grocery tax. It is unneeded. If elected, I would work towards abolishing the grocery tax.
  • Digital privacy is a crucial part of the future. If elected, I would ensure people have the ability to seek redress for violations of their data including compensation from compabies who lose their data due to cybersecurity negligence.
I want a freer tomorrow for everyone, so I would be a champion for freedom and liberty in every area of social public policy. I support laissez-faire economics, which means I oppose all government intervention and regulation of the market. I will never vote for a tax increase and will actively push to reduce the state budget in order to allow taxpayers to keep more of their money and use it where they would prefer.
mises.org. I'm a huge supporter of Austrian Economics and Minarchism. Minarchism is very limited government where the role of government is only courts, police, and military with everything else left up to the market in a true laissez-faire economic system.
Truth, Honesty, Integrity, Transparency, and Leadership.
Represent a core set of values and represent the people within the district.
State legislature creates the laws the governor executes. The legislature basically defines what the governor should do in regards to public policy.
Breaking away from government overreach in victimless crimes.
In the modern world? No. Technology is moving so fast that we need technologists in as legislators in order to be able to comprehend the speed of innovation.
Yes. As a Libertarian, I would have to reach out to other legislators to find when and where I can jump into projects that I support or join an opposition to a project I don't support.
Yes, I'm not sure what political office yet, but I do plan to run for various offices.
Never. If the legislature cannot come to a consensus on legislation, then the emergency is not an emergency.
In many cases, no. Freedom should not be compromised.
